Introduction
The story of Matetic Vineyard began in 1999 when the Matetic
family decided to diversify their business and enter the world of
viniculture in Rosario Valley, a stretch of land blessed with a
promising climate and equally favourable soils. From the earliest
stages of the winery, it was decided that a skilled team of
professionals would be responsible for this project, were brought
together at the end of 2000 with the task of producing
high-quality Matetic wines. They have succeeded. Matetic Vineyard
is located in Rosario Valley, a subdivision of San Antonio Valley,
120 kilometres from Santiago between Casablanca and San Antonio.
This completely enclosed valley, which is 9,000 hectares in length
and perpendicular to the ocean, features extraordinary light and
possesses the ideal climatic and topographic conditions for both
red and white wines. The 120 planted hectares are in all-organic
soils and are producing 100 percent natural grapes.
The winery, with a 300-thousand-liter capacity, relies on a
gravitational-flow design, which makes for optimum management of
the grapes brought in from the nearby vineyards.
